Mikey Kaminski’s long road almost ended at the top.

The Lockport senior made his return to the state finals after a one-year absence and advanced all the way to the Class 3A 126-pound state championship match before he lost by a 23-8 technical fall to one of the nation’s top wrestlers, Montini’s Dylan Ragusin, on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the State Farm Center in Champaign.
