Dan Potempa’s last win as Providence Catholic soccer coach was a special one.

The Celtics beat Washington 5-1 to capture the Class 2A Providence Regional title and in the process gave Potempa his 100th win as a girls coach.

“I’d been thinking about that 100th win all season,” Potempa said. “Going into the season, I knew I needed seven and thought I’d get it for sure. We struggled during the regular season, blew some games we thought we should’ve won.
