Opa! Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Homer Glen invited the community to experience and enjoy the culture of Athens and beyond during Be Greek For A Day.

The weekend-long event, held Friday, July 19, through Sunday, July 21, featured Greek cuisine — including authentic Greek yogurt — games, raffles and more. Greek dancers provided entertainment, as did musical acts, including Maggie Speaks and Ormi.

Parish President Mike Bradaric explained the event is, at its heart, a big picnic, which is a summer tradition for local Greek churches.
