Children from Homer Jr. High spent their Friday night on May 29 practicing their singing and dance moves in preparation for their presentation of “The Wizard of Oz.”

“Jitterbugs, you’re up,” Brooke Ferricks, 12, called backstage — which was her garage. “I’ll dance with you this last time, but tomorrow you’re doing it on your own.”

The Jitterbugs lined up in a row on Ferricks’ driveway and followed her every move to the accompanying music.
