David John Woyner, 64, formerly of Homer Glen, died April 13. Born in Chicago, resided in Homer Glen before becoming a resident of Cave Creek, Arizona, in 2010. Woyner loved the outdoors, running marathons and enjoyed 16-inch softball, where he had played in a senior league. Above all else, Woyner was a loving husband, father and Opa; he cherished nothing more than spending time with his adored family. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen (Floyd) Woyner; his three children, Nathan (Melanie) Strickland, Rachel (Trevor) Schoeny and Lauren (Jake)
Oster; his six grandchildren, Ethan and Cole Strickland, Jackson, Aubrey and Samuel Schoeny and Robin Oster; his brothers, Tommy and Terry Nagle, George Woyner and Jack (Katy) Woyner; and his sisters, Patricia Stawiery, Betty Jean Kohs, Mary Hosty and Marcy (John) Woyner-Sutton. Services were held April 22 at the O’Neil Funeral Home chapel. Following all services, cremation rites were respectfully addressed. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Disabled American Veterans greatly appreciated.
