Police and canine units responded to Homer Glen’s Hadley Middle School Friday, March 7, after custodial staff reportedly discovered a shell casing under one of the lunch tables.
Canine units did not discover any further indications of weapons, additional shell casings, a bullet or gunpowder, according to Ken Kaupas, Will County Sheriff’s Police Deputy Chief of the Special Operations Bureau.
“I can only speculate as to who or how or why,” Kaupas said.
Per school policy, Hadley was placed on a soft lockdown, Kaupas said.
