Although not everyone in the world practices Catholicism, the Catholic popes see themselves not as someone trying to “impose their religion on everybody,” but rather as Father or Father-ly to everyone in the world. Indeed, the Popes are well-known to greet anyone of any faith or persuasion with the utmost dignity, respect and graciousness.

The Homer Township Oak Arbor of Gleaner Life Insurance Society recently held its Senior Fall Harvest on Oct. 14 at American Legion John Olson Post 18 in Lockport, where free fruits and vegetables of the season were provided to 


The event was also an opportunity for seniors to meet Arbor members and socialize with other area seniors. More than 65 seniors selected a variety of free items and had refreshments and coffee.
