In an expansive coaching search, the Lockport Township High School football program ended up looking no further than its own backyard.

The Horizon has learned that Lockport resident Dan Starkey, football coach at New Trier High School, was to be officially named the head football coach at LTHS Monday, Feb. 24, during the District 205 Board of Education meeting.

The decision was considered a “routine” item on the consent agenda, which listed Starkey as an employee starting in 2014.
