The Homer Jr. High golf team was well-represented at this year’s state finals in Peoria, with Lizzie Anderson becoming the first state champion in school history. She shot a 76 to win by one. On the boys side, the school had two representatives at state, with Brody McCarthy shooting a 78 to finish eighth, earning All-State honors. Joey Sluzas rounded out the trio and finished one shot out of the Top 10.
