The Rev. Michael McMahon, known as Father Mike, celebrates Mass May 27 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Homer Glen. It was his first Mass as priest, having been ordained the day before at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet.

When the Rev. Michael McMahon — known as Father Mike — was a second-grade student at SS. Cyril & Methodius School in Lemont, he first stated he wanted to one day become a priest.
