“... After all that, he could’ve been totally bummed and went into depression, but nope. He was like ‘they didn’t say I could never walk again, so I know I can walk again, it’s just a matter of when,” Jodi Herman said of her son.

Watching Jake Herman tear up and down the lacrosse field, it’s hard to imagine him as he was this time last year — around 20 pounds lighter and confined to a wheelchair. But even then, he knew his playing days weren’t over.
