It was a little before noon at our office on Aug. 21 when I started to really pay attention to the solar eclipse. Knowing that was when it was set to begin, with the sun to be most covered at approximately 1:19 p.m., I pulled up a tab on my computer while proofing the previous issue of this paper and watched a live feed of the phenomenon.
