There will be some growing pains this season for the Lockport girls water polo team and that showed in the opening minutes of the Porters’ season opener against Metea Valley Tuesday, March 18.

The Mustangs scored twice in the opening minute on their way to a 13-7 victory at the Lockport Community Wellness Center pool.

It was a busy week, and a successful one for the Providence girls tennis team, which remains undefeated in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference.

The Celtics beat Montini, 4-1, Sept. 15 in Lombard, and shut out Trinity, 5-0, Thursday, Sept. 17, in New Lenox.

They were scheduled to host Bishop McNamara in a conference reschedule on Friday, but that was postponed due to weather. They also participated in the Sandburg Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19.
