An email chain obtained by The Homer Horizon indicates that the campaign team of Citizens to Re-Elect Mayor Jim Daley has been offering to pen letters for residents who wish to support Daley in print via “unique letters” to The Horizon. 

The supporters were encouraged to make sure the letters drafted by the campaign team accurately represented the author, and were told to send them to The Horizon as soon as possible, requesting to be published in the opinion section.

Five individuals were transported to the hospital following a four-car collision at 143rd Street and Bell Road shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, said Will County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer. Several bystanders are believed to have assisted in extricating victims from one of the vehicles.

When is a horse not just a horse? When the horse helps a 10-year-old girl win the World’s Championship Horse Show 2017 in Louisville, of course.

Lyla Grace Wroble, of Mokena, did just that on Aug. 23, along with a little help from the horse she rode, Roy, who goes by the name Glenview’s Excelalante in competitions. It was Lyla’s 10th win in competition this year.

A reported Homer Glen native was killed Sunday afternoon in what Kendall County investigators are calling a hit-and-run.

The body of Amanda Stanton, 26, currently of Lockport, was found around 2:25 p.m. Sunday, June 24, near Plainfield Road and Plainsman Court in Oswego, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Department.

The department's preliminary investigation has indicated that Stanton was struck and killed by a car, which then fled the scene.

A 16-year-old teenage boy from Homer Glen was found safe in Garfield County, Colorado, after running away from home and stealing a vehicle, according to a press release issued Friday, Dec. 2, by the Will County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office reportedly was notified around 2 a.m. Dec. 2 that the boy was taken into custody by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office after a traffic stop was made on a red, 2005 Jaguar with only one headlight operational.
